Vitamin C contributes to the normal function of the immune system and helps protect cells from oxidative stress. Chromium contributes to the maintenance of normal blood sugar levels.
Gynostemma (Gynostemma pentaphyllum), also known as jiaogulan, was called "Southern Chinese ginseng," "five-leaf ginseng," or "immortality herb" by the Chinese. For hundreds of years, the Chinese have used it for its health-promoting properties. It contains three times as many active ingredients—saponins—as ginseng. In Chinese medicine, jiaogulan is known for its rejuvenating and adaptogenic properties.
The purple carrot is an ancestor of the modern carrot. It contains more nutrients than regular orange carrots. The purple carrot contains an exclusive and valuable anthocyanidin – cyanidin – a natural pigment found in some red berries and dark purple vegetables. This vegetable is also a source of phenols, flavonols, calcium, iron, and zinc. Of particular note is the fact that its antioxidant activity is four times higher than that of red carrots.
Chromium is considered an essential trace element for humans because of its direct influence on metabolic and physiological processes. As such, chromium is part of a molecule called chromomodulin, which helps the hormone insulin perform its actions in the body. Thanks to this molecular mechanism, chromium contributes to maintaining normal blood sugar levels.
Chromium also contributes to normal macronutrient metabolism. In other words, it is essential for the body's processing of carbohydrates, fat, and proteins.
Apart from its undoubted benefits, it should be noted that the absorption of chromium from food in the intestine is very low, as less than 2.5% of the chromium ingested is absorbed.
TIENS Inner Beauty Extra features an improved formula that also contains yeast enriched with chromium. The combination of yeast and chromium is uniquely integrated into the product's formula—at the same time, these two ingredients complement each other. This is especially important for people with diabetes, as adequate glucose levels play a key role in the proper functioning of the body. In diabetics, sugar is incompletely converted into energy, which negatively affects the nervous and circulatory systems. Therefore, it is very important to supplement the diet properly, which perfectly corrects the body's deficiencies and thus also influences the body's well-being. Yeast, on the other hand, contains a whole range of B vitamins (especially vitamins B1, B2, B5, B6, B7, and B12), as well as many minerals such as zinc, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, selenium, chromium, and even easily digestible proteins, which are essential for a diabetic diet.
