Information for private households on the proper disposal and return of old electrical appliances
Electrical and electronic devices that have become waste are referred to as old devices. Owners of old devices must dispose of them separately from unsorted municipal waste. In particular, old electrical devices do not belong in household waste, but rather in special collection and return systems. You must separate old batteries and accumulators that are not enclosed in the old device from them before handing them over to a collection point. This does not apply if the old electrical devices are handed over to public waste disposal authorities and separated there from other old electrical devices for the purpose of preparation for reuse.
Electrical appliances contain the symbol of a crossed-out wheeled bin. This symbol means that electrical appliances must not be disposed of in municipal waste. Electrical appliances must be disposed of separately from unsorted municipal waste. End users are responsible for deleting personal data from the electrical appliances being disposed of. Therefore, please ensure that personal data is deleted from the electrical appliance before properly disposing of it.
Owners of old electrical appliances from private households can hand them in at collection points operated by public waste disposal authorities or at take-back points established by manufacturers or distributors in accordance with the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act. Proper disposal ensures that old electrical appliances are properly disposed of and negative impacts on the environment are avoided.
You can also return old electrical devices directly to us, either by dropping them off at our store in Hemsbünde or by sending the goods to us. Returns are possible with the purchase of a new device, or if your device has an edge length of up to 25 cm, even without a new purchase.
